This year has been a whirlwind of changes for most. COVID-19, political protests, and wildfires are driven by climate change have forced many to work from home. The education system has also been heavily impacted, with many universities going partially or completely virtual for the foreseeable future. This presents a unique challenge for clubs that usually meet in person. While video chat platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and GoToMeeting have allowed clubs to meet virtually, many are still facing technical challenges with shared resources typically accessed in person.
Cyber Security clubs in particular are facing issues accessing the lab environments they use to train for the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) and Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC). These annual events help attract more college students to the cybersecurity industry and allow them to learn and exercise hands-on skills in a fun, competitive, and safe environment.
Today we’re launching our Cybersecurity Club Sponsorship Program in an effort to fill the void of hands-on practice many have been left with.
At Snap Labs, we’re well suited to help collegiate cybersecurity clubs that have lost access to the lab environments that are so pivotal to their competition performance, and also to provide lab environments for clubs that may not have had them in the first place.
If you are a college club involved in the national CCDC or CPTC competitions, or other cybersecurity related events, we want to hear from you. If selected, your club will receive access to the Snap Labs platform which includes:
